The priority of free education in Banten is indeed public schools. While private schools are still given subsidies.
This was conveyed by Moch Ojat Sudrajat, education observer in Banten Province in a statement received by the editorial staff of the Banten RMOL News Agency (Wednesday, 8/22).
"2017 and 2018 have been provided by means of grants ranging in size from Rp. 500,000 to Rp. 600,000 per student per year, and I am sure that gradually private schools will receive even more subsidies," he said.
The subsidy said by Bang Ojat as the root address, raises the existence of healthy competition for admission to state / high school / vocational / SKH public schools.
Ojat said, it could be to improve the achievements of the students themselves. Through competitive and healthy selection, they get rewards in the form of free education from the Government.
"On the contrary, when their achievements are not good and do not pass the selection, the local government does not provide rewards, but the Regional Government provides subsidies for them," he said.
The illustration, explained Ajat, is the same as when high school / SMK / SKH graduates will continue to Higher Education, the choice is the same, for those who have achievements, they will get an invitation line (PMDK / SNMPTN), or entrance test (SBMPTN) or for those who are capable of independent pathways, at PTN. For those who are not included in the three criteria there are Private Universities as an alternative.
"If private schools are also free, then who will pay teacher salaries?" Their teacher? And where are the development of facilities and infrastructure developed? "
Because, according to him, private school assets belong to the Foundation, according to PP 48 of 2008 concerning Funding School education established by the community (private schools) is permitted to collect fees or donations to parents of students and receive donations from domestic and foreign communities.
